If certain elements are not completely deleted or the deletion process hangs or stops when clearing browser traces, the following causes may be considered.
- If the system analysis or the "Internet Cleaner" module in WinOptimizer hangs or stops, a Firefox profile could be the cause. Please open this browser and manually delete the browsing history/browser data once. This may repair the user profile, allowing it to function properly in WinOptimizer thereafter.
- Customers using security solutions from Eset have recently reported increased issues with deleting browser traces in our applications. Apparently, the browser traces are monitored or used by Eset, which prevents them from being deleted by WinOptimizer.
It is possible that the "Protect all browsers" feature is enabled in your Eset installation under "Settings" -> "Security Tools" or "Browser Protection." Please consider disabling this feature in the security program.
- Alternatively, in WinOptimizer, you can disable the deletion of browser traces for system analysis and the One Click Optimizer in the settings.
